Going to your first meeting
AA has no dues or fees and nothing to join. Arrive a few minutes early, take a seat and listen. You may be invited to introduce yourself or share, and it is fine to decline.
Anyone may attend an open meeting, and family and friends attend as observers. Closed format meetings are for AA members and people who have a drinking problem and want to stop.
